How is the American Dream caring for our Children?

We are the Children is a film and website based on the awakening of Robyn O’Brien to state of America’s children and the food that they eat.

Robyn’s journey is one of loss and courage...Robyn had a firm belief in classic American values and that Americans in Wall Street, Main Street, in corporations or non-profits as well as the government have only the best intentions for the American family and would never harm the nucleus upon which this nation was built. But when her 4 children started succumbing to illnesses, allergies and other problems, she slowly realized that the food her children were eating were making them sick. When she investigated why, she discovered that government agencies, doctors and other associations seemed to be protecting food companies rather than the health of our children. That this could be possible shocked her and gave her a deep sense of despair and grief that the things that she loved could betray her so close to home. This betrayal sent her on her life-quest of learning about the state of our food and it’s impact on our children’s health and well-being.

The focus of the film is not on blame but on healing what we call the “national dinner table.”
